AUD/USD: Aussie trading higher in the Asian session

For the 24 hours to 23:00 GMT, the AUD rose 0.34% against the USD and closed at 0.7632.

LME Copper prices declined 0.44% or $21.0/MT to $4794.0/MT. Aluminium prices declined 1.07% or $17.5/MT to $1620.0/MT.

In the Asian session, at GMT0300, the pair is trading at 0.7658, with the AUD trading 0.34% higher from yesterday’s close.

Earlier today, in China, Australia’s largest trading partner, industrial profits rose by 19.5% YoY in August, compared to 11.0% in the previous month.

The pair is expected to find support at 0.7618, and a fall through could take it to the next support level of 0.7578. The pair is expected to find its first resistance at 0.768, and a rise through could take it to the next resistance level of 0.7702.

With no economic releases in Australia today, trading trend in the AUD is expected to be determined by global macroeconomic factors.

The currency pair is trading above its 20 Hr and 50 Hr moving averages.
