USD/CAD: Loonie trading on a stronger footing, ahead of Canada’s employment data

For the 24 hours to 23:00 GMT, the USD declined 0.27% against the CAD and closed at 1.3753.

In the Asian session, at GMT0400, the pair is trading at 1.3726, with the USD trading 0.19% lower from yesterday’s close.

The pair is expected to find support at 1.3648, and a fall through could take it to the next support level of 1.3571. The pair is expected to find its first resistance at 1.3795, and a rise through could take it to the next resistance level of 1.3864.

Looking ahead, Canada’s unemployment rate and the Ivey PMI data, set to release later today, will grab a lot of market attention.

The currency pair is showing convergence with its 20 Hr and trading below its 50 Hr moving average.
