USD/CHF: SNB held its interest rate unchanged

For the 24 hours to 23:00 GMT, the USD fell marginally against the CHF and closed at 0.9263.

The Swiss National Bank (SNB) maintained its key interest rate at 0.0%-0.25% and also decided to keep its minimum exchange rate of CHF 1.20 per euro unchanged.

On the data front, trade surplus in Switzerland rose less-than-expected to CHF2,224 million in May, from a revised CHF1,698 million recorded in the previous month.

In the Asian session, at GMT0300, the pair is trading at 0.9254, with the USD trading 0.10% lower from yesterday’s close.

The pair is expected to find support at 0.9212, and a fall through could take it to the next support level of 0.9170. The pair is expected to find its first resistance at 0.9329, and a rise through could take it to the next resistance level of 0.9404.

In the day ahead, the SNB releases its monthly statistical bulletin indicating the economic conditions in the nation.

The currency pair is trading below its 20 Hr and 50 Hr moving averages.
