In the US, Reuters and the University of Michigan reported that the consumer sentiment index rose to a reading of 72.4 in May, compared to a reading of 69.8 recorded in April.
In the UK, the Rightmove house price index, on monthly basis, rose by 1.3% in May from 1.7% decline in April.
The pair opened the Asian session at 1.6175, and is trading at 1.6181 at 3.00GMT. The pair is trading 0.09% lower from the New York session close.
The pair has its first short term resistance at 1.6279, followed by the next resistance at 1.6377. The first support is at 1.6113, with the subsequent support at 1.6045.
The currency pair is trading just below its 20 Hr and 50 Hr moving averages.
