Gold: Gold fails to hold above $1900 an ounce

Gold prices traded lower by 1.56% against the USD in the 24 hour period ending 23:00GMT, at 1,871.90 per ounce, after touching an intraday high of over $1,900 per ounce, as the yellow metal was pressured by a strong dollar.

In the Asian session at 3:00GMT, gold is trading at USD1,874.55 per ounce, 0.14% higher from 23:00GMT.

The pair is expected to find its first short term resistance at 1,909.43, with the next resistance at 1,944.31. The pair is expected to find support at 1,851.18 and subsequently at 1,827.81.

The yellow metal is trading just below its 20 Hr and its 50 Hr moving averages.
