GBP/USD: Greenback edges higher as crude prices pull back

For the 24 hours to 23:00 GMT, GBP fell 0.24% against the USD and closed at 1.6162.

In the UK, BRC Shop Price Index rose to 2.7% (M-o-M) in February compared to 2.5% in January.

The pair opened the Asian session at 1.6162, and is trading at 1.6152 at 4.00GMT. The pair is trading 0.06% lower from the New York session close.

The pair has its first short term resistance at 1.6193, followed by the next resistance at 1.6233. The first support is at 1.6128, with the subsequent support at 1.6103.

The pair is expected to trade on the cues from the release of data on goods trade balance in the UK.

The currency pair is showing convergence with its 20 Hr moving average and is trading below its 50 Hr moving average.
