USD/CAD: Canadian dollar continues to trade lower in Asian session

For the 24 hours to 23:00 GMT, USD rose 0.25% against the CAD to close at 0.9627.

The Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia President, Charles Plosser stated that the US economic recovery is nearing a point where the apex bank should start withdrawing record stimulus.

In Canada, the New Housing Price Index (NHPI), on a monthly basis, remained unchanged in March, following a 0.4% advance recorded in February.

In the Asian session at 3:00GMT, the pair is trading at 0.9638, 0.11% higher from the New York session close.

The first area of short term resistance is observed at 0.9689, followed by 0.9740 and 0.9836. The first area of support is at 0.9593, with the subsequent supports at 0.9548 and 0.9452.

The currency pair is showing convergence with its 20 Hr moving average and is trading just above its 50 Hr moving average.
