USD/CHF: Trading lower in the Asian session, Swiss CPI awaited

For the 24 hours to 23:00 GMT, USD declined 0.60% against the CHF and closed at 0.7658.

In the US, the initial jobless claims edged down to 400,000 for the week ended 30 July, from the previous week’s revised figure of 401,000. On the other hand, the continuing jobless claims rose to 3.730 million in the week ended July 23, from the preceding week’s revised level of 3.720 million

In the Asian session, at 3:00GMT, the pair is trading at 0.7648, 0.13% lower from yesterday’s close at 23:00 GMT.

The pair has its first short term resistance at 0.7762, followed by the next resistance at 0.7876. The first area of support is at 0.7574 level, with the subsequent support at 0.7500.

Trading trends in the pair today are expected to be determined by release of Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Switzerland.

The currency pair is trading below its 20 Hr moving average and its 50 Hr moving average.
