For the 24 hours to 23:00 GMT, USD strengthened 0.14% against the JPY, on Friday, and closed at 76.84, after consumer sentiment index in the US advanced in September.
In the US, the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan reported that the consumer sentiment index rose to 57.8 in September, compared to 55.7 posted in August.
In the Asian session at 3:00GMT, the dollar is trading slightly higher against yen from Friday’s close at 23:00 GMT, at 76.88.
The first short term resistance is at 77.02, followed by 77.15. The pair is expected to find support at 76.71 and the subsequent support level at 76.53.
The currency pair is trading just above its 20 Hr and 50 Hr moving averages.
