AUD/USD: Gains boosted by higher metal prices

For the 24 hours to 23:00 GMT, AUD strengthened 1.37% against the USD to close at 1.0681.

In Australia, the producer price index rose 1.2% (Q-o-Q) for the three months ended on March.

LME Copper prices rose 1.9% or $171.8/MT to $9,450.3/ MT. Aluminium prices rose 2.0% or $53.3/MT to $2,713.5/ MT.

In the Asian session at 3:00GMT, the pair is trading at 1.0755, 0.69% higher from the New York session close.

The pair is expected to find first short term resistance at 1.0830, with the next resistance levels at 1.0905 and 1.1113, subsequently. The first support for the pair is seen at 1.0622, followed by next supports at 1.0489 and 1.0281 respectively.

The currency pair is trading just above its 20 Hr moving average and well above its 50 Hr moving average.
