USD/CHF: Swiss Franc extends its losses in the Asian session

For the 24 hours to 23:00 GMT, the USD rose 0.28% against the CHF and closed at 0.9742.

The Swiss Franc posted losses after the nation’s KOF leading indicator fell to 100.4 in September, from an upwardly revised reading of 101.2 in August. However, Switzerland’s UBS consumption indicator increased to 1.63 points in August, its fifth consecutive rise, after reporting 1.59 points in July.

In the Asian session, at GMT0300, the pair is trading at 0.9751, with the USD trading 0.09% higher from yesterday’s close.

The pair is expected to find support at 0.9713, and a fall through could take it to the next support level of 0.9676. The pair is expected to find its first resistance at 0.9783, and a rise through could take it to the next resistance level of 0.9815.

Moving ahead, investors will look forward to Switzerland’s retail sales data for August and purchasing managers’ index data for September, scheduled to release in a few hours.

The currency pair is showing convergence with its 20 Hr moving average and is trading above its 50 Hr moving average.
